Fitness club at Bahrain Financial Harbour
Manama, Bahrain, September 26, 2008: Bahrain Financial Harbour Holding Company (BFHHC) today confirmed signing an agreement with Fitness First to set up a health and fitness club on the 6th floor of the Harbour Mall in the Financial Centre. UK-based Fitness First is the world's largest gym, health and fitness club chain, with over 550 clubs and 1.5 million members spread across the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Salwan Uchi, Marketing Director, BFHHC said: "Fitness and exercise are critical for the health and well being of people of all ages, especially in today's competitive age when most of us lead stressful lives and tend to take our health for granted. Being health conscious has its benefits. Exercise and fitness not only helps prevent obesity but improves self confidence, efficiency and one's overall sense of well-being. We at BFH are delighted to have Fitness First, the leading global fitness company, open a club at BFH. The agreement marks yet another step towards making the BFH community self contained, with a prudent mix of work and leisure spaces and we are confident that the club will operate as a convenient workout spot for those working in the BFH premises as well as the general public because of its prime location."
Fitness First was founded in the UK in 1992 and is the fastest growing fitness club chain today, with a presence in 18 countries. Current plans envisage rapid expansion in the Middle East. Fitness First's facilities will include a gym with state of the art cardio equipment, studio for Group Exercise, Personal Training, indoor cycling studio, gym cardio theatre for total entertainment. Facilities also include a swimming pool as well as well-being therapies like sauna and steam baths. Also available is a members' lounge, changing rooms and a Free DVD library.
